Mary Jo's French Bread
After two and a half long weeks of nothing but work and two days off, I took off from work early yesterday and am taking all day today off. I've been having work dreams (dreams about work that turn into to-do lists that I tell myself I have to remember to do the next day) for the better part of a month, and I needed a vacation. So, when I got home for work, the only thing that I wanted to do was make bread! John and Kathy got me Mary Jo's Cuisine, a cookbook by a chef who recently retired from her restaurant in Oxford, OH. It's got a lot of instructions, so I'm not going to try to type it up here (sorry!). It did, however, turn out amazing, and she says that homemade bread freezes really well, so I would recommend trying SOME sort of homemade bread, the next time you need to de-stress. I would recommend following the recipe exactly, at least the first few times, before you make flour substitutions or herb additions or anything like that.
